How We Work
How we work
From first brief to steady supply usually takes five steps. Sampling and trials can repeat until the color is right.
- 01 Brief 提出需求 Tell us your base resin, molding process, target color (a sample, a color-chart number or a physical part) and rough volume.
- 02 Color matching 配色打样 We formulate for your resin and process, then produce color plaques or a small sample.
- 03 Trial run 试料确认 Run the sample on your machine and check the color and dispersion. We keep adjusting until it is right.
- 04 Production 批量生产 Once the formula is approved, we schedule volume production.
- 05 Delivery 交付跟进 We ship to your plant and stay in touch to fine-tune if anything comes up in use.
Before sampling, please have this ready
The more complete the information, the closer the first sample.
- Base resin Resin type and grade.
- Process Injection molding, blow molding or blown film, and the approximate processing temperature.
- Target color A color sample, a color-chart number or a physical part all work.
- Part & end use What the part is, its wall thickness, and whether it comes into contact with food.
- Expected volume First order and regular lot size, so we can plan sampling and production.
Calculator
Masterbatch usage calculator
Enter the total weight of the blend and the let-down ratio to see how much masterbatch and natural resin to prepare.
Out of every 200 pellets, 4 are masterbatch.
The let-down ratio is the masterbatch’s share of the total blend weight. Results are for planning only; follow the ratio in your approved formula.
How It's Made
How a pellet of masterbatch is made
Once the formula is set, pigments, carrier resin and additives are weighed and mixed in proportion, melted and dispersed in a twin-screw extruder, then cooled, pelletized and screened, and packed after passing inspection.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
New to masterbatch, or weighing it against pigment powder? Start with these.
01 What is masterbatch?
Masterbatch is a concentrated coloring (or functional) material: pigments or additives are pre-dispersed at high loading in a carrier resin and cut into pellets. In processing it is blended into natural resin at a set ratio and molded, blown or extruded together, giving the product its color or function.
02 How is masterbatch different from using pigment powder directly?
Masterbatch comes as pellets: no dust, easy to weigh and convey, and well suited to automatic dosing. Because the pigment is already dispersed, specks and streaks are less likely, and color changeovers clean out faster. Powder costs less per kilogram, but it gets airborne easily, disperses unevenly and asks more of the shop floor and the operator.
03 What let-down ratio is typical?
It depends on the depth of shade, the wall thickness and how much opacity is needed. Ratios of 1%–5% are common in the industry; films, thin-wall parts and dark shades over a light base can run higher. The ratio confirmed during sampling is the one to follow.
04 Why do you need to know my base resin and process first?
The carrier resin has to be compatible with your base resin, and its flow has to suit your process. The same color needs different formulas for a blow-molded bottle, an injection-molded pail and a film. The more complete the information, the faster the sampling.
05 Pre-colored compound or masterbatch: what is the difference?
With pre-colored compounding, the color is built into the whole batch. It arrives as finished colored resin, ready to run with no blending on site, and color is very consistent within the batch. Masterbatch is more flexible: one natural resin plus different masterbatches gives different colors, so you hold less stock. Pre-colored compound suits fixed colors in large volumes; masterbatch suits many colors in smaller lots.
06 Can functional masterbatch be used together with color masterbatch?
Yes. Functional masterbatch is also dosed as pellets and is often added alongside color masterbatch. When combining them, the total loading and their interaction have to be considered together, so it is best to raise functional requirements at the sampling stage.
